why we are here.

Ultimately, to return the forests of Indonesia to the mountains, where they should be. To build the houses for our use, we have been gifted recycled wood, old teak from the Dutch era, when the forests abounded with umber treasures that hopefully one day shall return to the surface of the earth, but may not. This a true privilege, thus a great responsibility, so we have had to learn a touch or two of design along the way. Fortunately, my father was a good teacher of the eye, and the level of craftsmanship in Indonesia is still high. Herein, an erratic plot of our attempts, mixes and matches we have found along the way.

And earlier that day, just over the hill on the same mountain, the real rough shit.

Well, digging a hole for it later..found some porcelain down there, but no gold..respect to the team on this day though, for sure, as we dug down 8m3 and landscaped it simultaneously...
